Visiting the *marché* (market) is a staple of French culture and daily life. Learn how to pick out fresh fruit, ask for the price, and chat with the vendor in this roleplay.
To ask for the price in French, you often say "Elles coûtent combien ?" (How much do they cost?) or simply "C'est combien ?". Similar to Italian, French frequently uses the pronoun *en* (of it/of them): "j'en prends un kilo" literally means "I take a kilo of them". When the vendor hands you your change, they are giving you "la monnaie".
| French Phrase | English Translation |

| J'en prends un kilo | I'll take a kilo |
| Vous désirez autre chose ? | Anything else? |
